Handling system with XHE electronic handle applicator at the new Pontevecchio Srl factory.
The system is made up of an XHE 100-2 electronic handle applicator double line machine, two external handle supplies and an external electrical cabinet.
This is the latest revision of the XHE with double HMI panel, mechanical transmission guide adjustment system, height adjustment of the handle head by means of a manually controlled motor, robust stainless steel frame, door opening system with electromagnet sensors , remote connection module for remote assistance, asynchronous motors with encoders controlled in closed loop for optimal control in transient regimes, latest revision of the control software.
The two external handle feeders reach a speed equal to that of the handle applicator plus 10%. Furthermore, their speed is not constant but automatically adapts to the instantaneous speed required by the handle applicator, all this occurs by means of a servomotor. The feeders are equipped with automatic reel change and a series of handles which allows the handle making machine not to be stopped, for example, in the event that the reel is changed.
External electrical cabinet with articulated feet to distance it from the floor and avoid any contact with liquids, equipped on the outside with all the connection interfaces to avoid opening the doors, and therefore cutting off the electricity supply, in case of need for connection between PLC and PC. The wardrobe is also equipped with a lighting system.
XHE 100-2 double line electronic handle applicator, speed 100 packs/min per line, installed on a 54,000 bott/h line.
Handled packages coming out of the handle machine
Years of work and experience acquired have allowed the handle to be applied to packages with maximum precision. It is important to underline that precision and repeatability are achieved even in transient regimes, both during machine start-up and during speed changes. In the case of a double lane, the handle applicator is equipped with 12 sensors for speed control, 6 for each lane, 3 at the entrance and three at the exit. This allows you to best match the speed of the machine with that of the line. It should be noted that the two tracks are completely independent, one can handle while the other is stationary.
Handled packs inside the handle machine
In this image we can observe the last package handled before the machine stops, as mentioned above the precision does not change. To achieve this result, our engineers have developed an algorithm that is not complex but of particular engineering refinement.
The XHE 100-2 handle applicator does not require pneumatic supply, it is completely driven by closed loop controlled motors and servomotors capable of maintaining maximum synchronism between its parts.
